Art after work tour: Anti-Fashion
Clothing and disguise are essential components of Cindy Sherman's work. Between 1983 and 1994, she devoted herself specifically to the visual language of the fashion world. Sherman's photographs, however, do not reproduce idealized images of female beauty. In her tour, Cornelia Gockel (curator of media art) provides insights into the interplay between appropriation and deconstruction of the visual codes of fashion in Sherman's fashion series.
