STAY INSPIRED with Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg

A conversation between the Sammlung Goetz and the artists about daily motivation and inspiration

more SLG STAY INSPIRED

What is your daily motivation, Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg?

Nathalie: If i do art i don’t have to deal with life so much. I escape life into art.

Hans: It’s the opposite, making the music for me is life, i enhance my life with music. Life would be so boring without that.

Where do you get your inspiration from in these days?

Nathalie: Life, all that i wish to escape, or at least what i wish to make sense of. But the deeper you go, the less sense there is.

Hans: Less from life because there is so little happening, rather more from fantasies and thoughts, i make more escapist music now i think.

What are you currently working on?

Nathalie: It’s not good for the work to talk too much about it while still working on it. Art is already a language in itself, by putting words on it too early, you might take away the deeper, more wordless meaning. Definitions and explanations always come after.

Hans: I’m just finishing the music for seven new animations, a church organ composition that is constantly changing, evolving and mutating, which we will premier later this year we hope.
