Art & Archives: Film Screening with Panel Discussion

How does art engage with historical archival material? How are sites of history used in artistic film? How do political aspects and aesthetic concepts intertwine? These questions form the starting point for a film screening and panel discussion held as part of the 20th UNDERDOX Film Festival on October 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Theatiner Kino in Munich.
The program includes the screening of In Retrospect (2025) by artist duo Mila Zhluktenko and Daniel Asadi Faezi, as well as the film installation Neue Ordnung (2009/2013) by Ute Adamczewski, from the Sammlung Goetz.
Following the screening, Dunja Bialas (Festival Director) will discuss the varying approaches to archives and historical sites with the participating artists and Susanne Touw (Curator of Media Art, Sammlung Goetz).
