Creative, more creative, GUTAI
Have you ever thought of, tried out or created something that no one has done before? This was the goal of the Japanese artists' group GUTAI in the 1960s, and their experimental design techniques made them one of the most innovative art collectives of the 20th century. Bored with the understanding of art at the time, they even left behind modern art movements such as abstraction to explore all the possibilities of pure creativity.
A wide variety of people used a wide variety of approaches to create something unprecedented - with full physical involvement and a pure desire to experiment.
In this workshop we will first be inspired by some of the original works from the Sammlung Goetz, currently on display at the Pinakothek der Moderne. In the afternoon, we will try out design techniques developed by the artist group GUTAI at the Kinderkunsthaus. Of course, there will be plenty of time to put your own ideas into practice.
Come and join us, it will be great!
