HIDE IT! What lies hidden under your painting surface?

Workshop for kids

For the artists presented in the exhibition Tutto. Perspectives on Italian Art, the canvas eventually became too constraining, as they wished to portray everything, “tutto”! To achieve this goal, they not only perforated and cut through their canvases, but also altered them using nails, mirrors and transparent materials.
In our workshop HIDE IT!, we look behind the canvas with you and experiment with it: What can be hidden under it; how can you change the image surface; and how do you simultaneously create space for enigmatic pictorial objects? Together we will explore these and many more questions in the workshop. Come along, embark on a journey of discovery into the abstract form language of the presented artists and create your own mysterious visual worlds! Your imagination will know no bounds in the workshop - because everything is possible with Tutto!

The workshops are realized with the generous support of the Ingvild and Stephan Goetz art foundation and in cooperation with the art agency FILOMELE.
