Julian Rosefeldt New Year’s Screening Special

Who does not know that melancholy feeling on a gray New Year's morning after a long night of celebration? The young, elegantly attired man in a tuxedo in Julian Rosefeldt’s film Deep Gold (2013/14) seems familiar with this sentiment. Lost in thought, he stands at the open window of his feudal apartment; feathers glide through his hands onto the street below. His leap into the air is not a suicide, but a departure into a new, uncertain time in which fantastic adventures await him. For its Screening Special at the turn of the year, the Sammlung Goetz is presenting Rosefeldt’s homage to Luis Buñuel’s classic film L’Âge d’Or (1930) from 31 December 2021 thru 6 January 2022 on its website.
