Visitors with limited mobility

Dear Visitors,

We regret to inform you that the Sammlung Goetz exhibition building is not handicapped accessible. It was planned for private use and only opened to the public later on. The architectural circumstances make the reconstruction of the stairs and the installation of an elevator impossible.

However, we would still like to enable you to visit the Sammlung Goetz. Please call us and we will strive to find a solution or alternative to meet your individual needs.

Ayzit Bostan for Sammlung Goetz
The Munich designer has created a bag for the art collection

Photo: Sebastian Schels

“Urban, intelligent and true to itself”, is how Ayzit Bostan describes her style. The Turkish-German fashion designer has created a bag exclusively for the Sammlung Goetz. It is made of durable black cotton fabric, and has two short cotton handles and one leather shoulder strap. Its timeless, purist look is based on the Leather Tote Bag in Ayzit Bostan’s own collection. The limited-edition bag is available in the Sammlung Goetz shop for 30 euros.

Ayzit Bostan is a border crosser of disciplines: her minimalist and elegant clothes, T-shirts and sweaters with iconic prints are sold not only in boutiques, but also exhibited in galleries and museums. The Kunstverein München produced one of her T-shirts as a limited edition, and the designer has created bags and accessories for the international bag manufacturer Philipp Bree for several seasons now. Bostan is also a fine artist, a professor at the Kunsthochschule in Kassel, and works as a costume designer and a DJ in her spare time.

Bright lemon-yellow juxtaposed with deep royal blue; vivid pink mixed with cool turquoise – assume vivid astro focus’s summery and colorful scarf designed exclusively for Sammlung Goetz resembles an abstract painting. The wild mix of patterns consisting of free forms in bright colors as well as elements from art history and popular culture has become a hallmark of the artist duo. Such designs embellish the walls, columns, ceilings and floors of their awe-inspiring multi-media installations.

assume vivid astro focus has been active in the world of fashion since 2004. “It began with a collaboration with Le Sac for whom we designed patterns for a limited edition of bags and accessories,“ Eli Sudbrack, founder of assume vivid astro focus, said. “This was followed by projects for MAC Cosmetics, Melissa, Comme des Garçons and Marc Jacobs. Most recently we created a self-design collection with the Tom of Finland Foundation for the platform Print All Over Me.”

Eli Sudbrack designed the expressive polyester chiffon scarf (117 x 117 cm) exclusively for his exhibition in Sammlung Goetz; the limited edition piece costs 30 euros and is on sale in our museum shop. The design is based on one of his wall treatments in the multi-media installation in Base103. Also available is a limited edition of 50 signed and numbered scarves – a real highlight for collectors who want to enter the vibrant and colorful cosmos of assume vivid astro focus for a small price.

Exhibition: assume vivid astro focus, Sammlung Goetz, Base 103, München: 09.07.-15.12.2016.
